Shoes can make or break an outfit. While comfort and practicality should always determine your packing list, you do not have to compromise on style when trying to decide what shoes to take with you on a trip. Walking shoes, including boots and sandals, tend to be either dull or goofy, which is why I decided to put together a list of comfy and quirky shoes for women travellers who love to explore new places on foot.
Here are 10 pairs of shoes that will spice up your travel outfit while providing all-day comfort.
1. Leather hiking boots by Northwest Territory Trek
A good pair of hiking boots doesn’t have to be drabby. These sky blue boots are gorgeous and sturdy. They are also waterproof and have a padded insole. The pair also comes in bright pink and a nice purple.
2. Ankle boots by Rieker
These boots tick all the right boxes: they’re comfy, warm and super cool. The soles are jagged and made from gum rubber, which means the boots grip well on wet and slippery surfaces. They also have a side zip, so you don’t have to undo/do up the laces every time. I think these shoes have a nice, autumnal look, and would look great when worn with denim.
3. Leather ankle boots by Socofy
I love these boots. The colours are so beautiful, and the pair comes in slightly different styles and colour combinations. The shoes have a very nice fit, and their comfy, anti-slid soles make them perfect for walking around cities. These boots could really add some colour to a plain outfit, and you can wear them both during the day and for a night out.
4. Rain boots by Joules
If you’re looking for boots that are waterproof and quirky (but not too flashy), these are the perfect pair for you. You can choose from a variety of colours and prints, and they look great with almost any outfit. They are also easy to slip on and take off. Oh, and they’re super comfy, too!
5. Vaso-Flor trainers by Skechers
Comfy trainers are a must-have if you’re planning to do a lot of walking in a city. I love the embroidered floral design on these white Skechers trainers. The shoes can be worn with many different outfits, including summer dresses. They also come with a cushioned insole for extra comfort.
6. T-bar sandals by Clarks
Looking for sandals that you can walk in all day? Clarks are known for their high quality and comfy footwear, and these sandals are no exception. They are simple yet sassy, and thanks to their neutral colours you can wear them with anything.
7. Mary Jane flats by Hot Chocolate Design
These shoes are designed for creative individuals who love to stand out. Their cushioned sole makes them perfect for walking. You can browse through a variety of quirky styles by the same brand and choose a pair that best matches your personality.
8. Leather moccasins by Eagsouni
These slip-on loafers come in a variety of pretty colours. They have thick, anti-slip rubber soles with a massage-like function, making them perfect for walking on cobbled streets and uneven surfaces. They are also ideal for driving.
9. Travel canvas loafers by UIN
Love art and shoes? Combine the two with these painted canvas loafers. They are comfy and lightweight, and you can choose from a wide selection of beautiful and quirky designs. These shoes would look great with a pair of jeans or a bright-coloured dress.
10. Beaded sandals by Zicac
Want to pack a nice pair of sandals for your summer vacation? These pretty shoes come with hand-stitches beads and rhinestones. They also have a padded sole for support and an elastic ankle strap. I love the versatility of these shoes – they can be worn with so many different outfits.
